SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Welcome to the Daniel Hale Williams MS 180 Science Fair! As your child's science teacher I am looking forward to a very successful Science Fair program this year.
The students received all Science Fair information, which is available below if you need an extra copy. The packet included a science project starter sheet, an annual science project assignment informational sheet and three rubrics (oral presentation, display board & research paper). Included below is a download for science project ideas. Also, exemplars of research papers.
Please note the science project starter sheet must be completed and signed by BOTH THE STUDENT AND THE PARENT AND RETURNED TO MS. DESMARAIS BY XXXX XTH, 2018. The project MUST BE APPROVED by Ms. Desmarais before the student may begin the project. THERE WILL BE NO CHANGING THE CATEGORY OR EXPERIMENT THE STUDENT IS DOING AFTER XXX. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! FINAL PROJECT IS DUE ON XXXXXXXX, 20XX.
Please spend time with your daughter/son going over different topics and experiments to make sure they choose a category and experiment they are going to be most comfortable with. It is my suggestion to check the supply list and add up the cost of the experiment. Many experiments can get costly. Students are expected to do individual projects and the experiment must be done at home. Students are required to purchase a folder just for all their project information and research materials. Display boards should be purchased as soon as possible because supplies become scarce as time draws near to the due date. If the students hands in any portion of the project after the due date, the science department penalzies the grade 5 points per day. Please be sure you give yourself ample time to complete the assignment as it will be three test grades for the 3rd quarter marking period.
If you have any questions, please contact me via e-mail at [email protected] or call the school. Thank you inadvance for your cooperation and support with the Science Fair Project.
Sincerely,
Ms. Desmarais
